Live Formula 1 telemetry from OpenF1. No key required.
Overview
Local MCP server that gives an assistant live Formula 1 telemetry data from OpenF1, with no API key required.
- What you can do
- Provides access to live Formula 1 telemetry sourced from OpenF1.
- No tool list is published, so the exact queries available are not documented; expect race and session data retrieval rather than write operations.
- Runs as a local stdio process started by the assistant.
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to answer questions about current or recent Formula 1 sessions using live telemetry rather than static knowledge.
- Requirements
- A local runtime able to run the npm package openf1-mcp over stdio (Node.js). No API key, environment variables or headers are declared. Network access is needed to reach OpenF1 data. Desktop only; not available as a web-executable server.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Openf1 Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Score
25% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
- Tools listed15 pts
Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
