Search poems by title, author, or lines from PoetryDB. No key required.
Overview
Lets an assistant search public-domain poems by title, author, or lines using the PoetryDB collection.
- What you can do
- This local MCP server exposes a poem search capability backed by PoetryDB. An assistant can look up poems by title, by author, or by lines of text, returning matching entries from that collection. It is a small, single-purpose lookup tool rather than a general text or literature platform.
- When to use it
- Add it when you want an assistant to pull up poems or verify lines and authors during writing, study, or casual reference. It is not useful for copyrighted or current poetry, since it only covers what PoetryDB holds.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process on the user's machine, installed from the npm package poetry-mcp over stdio, so a Node.js runtime is needed. No API key, account, or environment variables are declared. Network access is needed to reach PoetryDB.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Poetry Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Score
25% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.

Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
