Use this MCP server to Radio Browser, 40,000+ internet radio stations searchable by genre, tag,...
Overview
Local MCP server that lets an assistant search the Radio Browser directory of 40,000+ internet radio stations by name, tag, country or votes.
- What you can do
- Search stations by name
- List stations by genre tag such as jazz, lofi or hardcore
- List stations from a given country
- Show the most voted stations across the network
- Each result includes the resolved stream URL, codec, bitrate and vote count, sorted by listener clicks and limited to working streams
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to find internet radio stations to listen to or recommend, filtered by genre, country or popularity, without needing any account or key.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process over stdio, installed from the npm package radio-browser-mcp and started with Node.js. No authentication, API keys or environment variables are declared; network access is needed to reach the Radio Browser directory.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Radio Browser Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

40% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
