Overview

AI-generated overview

Local MCP server that lets an assistant look up artists, concert setlists, live songs and play counts via the Setlist.fm API.

What you can do
  • Find an artist by name and get its MusicBrainz ID
  • List an artist's recent shows, optionally filtered by year
  • Retrieve a full song-by-song setlist for a specific show
  • Count how many times a song has been played live, with example shows
When to use it
Useful when you want to answer questions about what a band played on a given tour or at a specific concert, or how often a song appears in live sets, without leaving the assistant.
Requirements
Runs as a local Node.js process installed from the npm package and built locally. Needs a free Setlist.fm API key supplied through the SETLISTFM_API_KEY environment variable, plus network access to the Setlist.fm API.
Before you install
The Setlist.fm API key is a credential passed in plain text through the environment; keep it out of shared configs and repositories. The server is read-only lookups against a third-party service, so queries and artist names are sent to Setlist.fm.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Setlist Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
