Overview

AI-generated overview

Searches and downloads game sprites, models, textures and sounds from The VG Resource network, letting an assistant browse consoles and games and save assets…

What you can do
  • Search assets by name across sprites, models, textures and sounds, and find the same game across all four resource sites
  • Browse platforms, list games for a console, list assets for a game, and read asset metadata with download URLs
  • See recently uploaded, most viewed or random assets
  • Download a single file or batch download multiple files to a directory
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to find game art or audio for a project, reference or prototype and pull the files down locally, rather than browsing the resource sites by hand.
Requirements
Runs as a local process on the desktop, installed from the npm package and started with npx or a node command in the client configuration. No accounts, API keys or environment variables are declared. Network access to the VG Resource sites is needed.
Before you install
Downloading writes files to your disk, and batch download can pull whole games, so check target folders and volume. Assets come from third-party fan sites, so licensing and usage terms for the artwork and audio are your responsibility.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
