Overview

AI-generated overview

A local MCP server that lets an assistant look up US postal codes, cities and states using the Zippopotam service, with no API key.

What you can do
Look up US postal codes and resolve them to the matching city and state, using the Zippopotam postal data service.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to check or resolve US ZIP codes to city and state information, for example when cleaning addresses or answering location questions.
Requirements
Runs as a local process on the user's machine, installed from the npm package zip-codes-mcp over stdio. Node.js is needed. No API key or environment variables are declared. Network access to the Zippopotam service is required for lookups.
Before you install
Lookups are sent to the third-party Zippopotam service, so postal codes queried leave the machine. Coverage is limited to US postal codes, and results depend on that external service being available.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
