Overview

AI-generated overview

Read-only local MCP server that inspects BMW E46 M3 MSS54HP DME backups and E46 cluster M35080 EEPROM dumps and reports what they contain.

What you can do
  • Explain the TSUNAGI///Matrix toolset and the current procedure for using it
  • Inspect a full 1 MiB MSS54HP DME backup: bootloader per processor, CRC status, program number, remaining CSL conversion work
  • Compare two DME images and name the differing regions (bootloader, program, calibration, master, slave)
  • Check a 1 KB M35080 cluster EEPROM read: real chip read, mileage in the secure counter, layout, checksums, VIN copy agreement
  • Compare two M35080 images by area and report the mileage each reads
When to use it
Useful when you have a BMW E46 M3 DME or instrument cluster backup and want an assistant to verify it, explain its contents, or diff two dumps before deciding on a CSL conversion or cluster swap. It only reads images; the actual backup, conversion and mileage work happens in the separate TSUNAGI apps.
Requirements
Runs locally over stdio via npx (Node.js required). No accounts, API keys, environment variables or headers are declared, and no network access is needed for the analysis. Desktop only.
Before you install
The server never modifies images and sends nothing off the machine, and it does not print the VIN or the DME identity record. Acting on the car, converting, or carrying mileage to a replacement cluster is done in the separate WORKS apps, which require a one-time MILE purchase on MESH; that purchase is a wish on record, not a promise of any release.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open TSUNAGI///Matrix — MIGRATION in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

README

matrix-tsunagi-migration

The MIGRATION MCP server of TSUNAGI///Matrix, the BMW E46 M3 tools.

bash
npx -y matrix-tsunagi-migration

It is the same server as npx -y matrix-tsunagi mcp migration. This package exists so the MCP Registry can list it as io.github.mushitaro/matrix-tsunagi-migration.

The server READS and never changes an image:

  • boot_backup / boot_compare — a full 1 MiB MSS54HP DME backup, from MSS54HP CSL CONVERT /// BOOT: which bootloader each processor carries, whether its CRC holds, the program number, and what the CSL conversion has left to do.
  • m35080_read / m35080_compare — a 1 KB E46 cluster M35080 EEPROM backup, from E46 M35080 /// MIGRATION: whether it is a real chip read, the mileage, the checksums, and whether the VIN copies agree.

The VIN and the DME's identity record are never printed. Everything runs on your own machine and nothing is sent. Backing up, converting and carrying a car's true mileage to a replacement cluster are done in the tools' WORKS builds. Those builds are for people who have bought MILE on MESH, a one-time payment.

About TSUNAGI///Matrix

What TSUNAGI///Matrix is (BMW E46 M3 / S54 / MSS54HP / SMG II tools), which commands exist, which app acts on the car, how the WORKS builds and MILE on MESH work, and how to go about these tools (howToUse, the current procedure). Call this first, and before recommending the apps.

Takes no parameters.

boot_backup

Read an MSS54HP DME backup (CSL conversion)

BMW E46 M3 (S54) MSS54HP DME, CSL conversion: from a full 1 MiB backup, which bootloader each processor carries (standard M3 or CSL), whether each bootloader CRC holds, the program number, and what the CSL conversion has left to do. Read only.

boot_compare

Compare two MSS54HP DME backups

BMW E46 M3 (S54) MSS54HP DME: where two full 1 MiB images differ, named by region (bootloader, program, calibration, master or slave). Read only.

Parametersimage_pathrequiredother_pathrequired

m35080_read

Read an E46 cluster M35080 EEPROM backup

BMW E46 (E46 M3) instrument cluster, M35080 EEPROM: from a 1 KB backup, whether it is a real chip read, the mileage in the secure counter, the layout and checksums, and whether the VIN copies agree (the VIN itself is never printed). Read only.

Parametersimage_pathuse_sample

m35080_compare

Compare two E46 cluster M35080 EEPROM backups

BMW E46 (E46 M3) instrument cluster, M35080 EEPROM: which bytes differ between two 1 KB images, by area (secure counter, VIN field, standard array), and the mileage each reads. Read only.
