Hosted Playwright API for AI agents. Returns a11y trees instead of screenshots.
Overview
Lets an assistant drive a hosted Playwright browser to navigate pages, click and fill forms, extract structured data, and read accessibility trees.
- What you can do
- Rove is a hosted Playwright API exposed as an MCP server. Tools include navigate (auto-creating a session, with stealth mode and action jitter), interact for click and fill actions, extract_schema for pulling structured data from a URL using a JSON schema, screenshot, get_a11y_tree, and close_session. Instead of screenshots it returns accessibility trees, which the README says cuts token use by roughly 77 percent per page.
- When to use it
- Useful when an assistant needs to browse or automate real web pages: filling forms, clicking through flows, scraping structured data, or capturing page state. The accessibility-tree output suits agents that reason over page structure rather than images.
- Requirements
- Runs locally over stdio via npx, so Node.js is needed. Requires a Rove API key supplied in the ROVE_API_KEY environment variable; the README says signing up gives 100 free credits without a card. Network access to the Rove API endpoint is required, and the server is desktop-only.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Noncelogic in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Why Accessibility Trees?
Traditional browser automation returns screenshots that cost ~114K tokens per page. Rove returns structured accessibility trees at ~26K tokens — 77% fewer tokens, faster responses, and better structured data for LLMs to reason over.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
