Developer utilities MCP: base64, UUID, hash, JWT decode, cron, timestamps.
Overview
Local MCP server giving an assistant 17 offline developer utilities: Base64, UUID/ULID, hashing, JWT decoding, cron, timestamps, JSON and regex.
- What you can do
- Encode and decode Base64 strings
- Generate UUID v4 and ULID identifiers
- Hash strings with md5, sha1, sha256, sha384 or sha512, individually or all at once
- Decode JWT headers and payloads and check expiry
- Explain, validate and list next run times for cron expressions
- Convert between Unix timestamps and ISO 8601, and get the current time
- When to use it
- Useful when you regularly ask an assistant to decode tokens, generate IDs, compute hashes, sanity-check cron schedules, convert timestamps or format JSON, and you want those answers computed locally instead of guessed.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local stdio process started with npx from the npm package mcp-server-devutils, so Node.js and network access for the first package fetch are needed. No API keys or environment variables are declared.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Devutils in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
- Tools listed15 pts
Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
