Surface the notes you forgot you wrote — DMN replay for markdown vaults.
Overview
A local MCP server that resurfaces forgotten notes in a markdown vault by analyzing wikilink structure and file age, with paid Pro replay features.
- What you can do
- Find dormant notes that have few incoming wikilinks and old modification times
- List orphan notes with no incoming wikilinks at all
- Run a biased replay cycle that samples dormant notes and builds cross-domain bridge queries (Pro)
- Surface pairs of notes from different top-level folders that share concepts (Pro)
- Pull a single random dormant note for serendipitous rediscovery (Pro)
- When to use it
- Useful for people with a large personal markdown vault who want to rediscover old, isolated notes and unexpected connections between separate topic areas, rather than only revisiting notes they already remember.
- Requirements
- Runs locally over stdio as a Python package (Python 3.10+), installed with pip or run with uvx; configured in Claude Code or Claude Desktop. A Pro license JWT is optional and can be supplied via the CURIOSITY_ENGINE_LICENSE environment variable, a CLI flag, or a config file.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Mcp Curiosity Engine in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Surface the notes you forgot you wrote — DMN replay for markdown vaults.
Surface the notes you've forgotten you wrote. Uses wikilink graph structure + file mtime to identify dormant notes (low link-in count, old, isolated) and the DMN-inspired replay cycle pattern from cognitive neuroscience: sample dormant notes with bias (40% random / 30% least-linked / 30% orphaned), generate cross-domain bridge queries between them, and surface the unexpected connections. Breaks the confirmation-bias loop where you only revisit the notes you already remember.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
