Overview

AI-generated overview

Local MCP server that lets an assistant search, browse, look up and register AI agents in the public agentlookup.dev registry.

What you can do
Search agents by capability, protocol or keyword, and browse new, active and popular agents in the public registry. Retrieve full details for a specific agent by its ID. Register a new agent in the public registry and send heartbeats to keep a registered agent active. Check registry health and statistics.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to find existing AI agents by capability or protocol, inspect an agent's details, or publish and keep alive your own agent listing in the public agentlookup.dev registry.
Requirements
Runs locally as an npm package (agentlookup-mcp) via npx, so Node.js is needed. Search, discovery and lookup need no authentication. The heartbeat tool needs a heartbeat token, passed as a parameter or set in the AGENTLOOKUP_HEARTBEAT_TOKEN environment variable. Network access to agentlookup.dev is required.
Before you install
Registration publishes agent information to a public registry, so treat it as a write to a third-party service. The heartbeat tool requires a secret token (AGENTLOOKUP_HEARTBEAT_TOKEN); keep it out of shared configs and logs. Search and lookup send queries to agentlookup.dev.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Agentlookup Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Score

50% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.

  • Tools listed15 pts

Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
