Cognitive architecture MCP server with memory, learning, and contextual understanding
The publisher's own server: BrainDog
Overview
A local MCP server that gives an assistant structured reasoning engines plus persistent memory and learning, stored as JSON on the user's machine.
- What you can do
- Run six reasoning approaches: hybrid auto-selection, symbolic chaining, knowledge-graph traversal, case-based matching, hypothesis testing and analogical transfer, plus a stats tool for counts of stored cases, facts, nodes and edges. Store, retrieve and delete cases, facts and knowledge-graph nodes or edges, and record problem/solution/outcome experiences for later recall. Persist brain state to a local directory so solved problems can be recalled in later sessions.
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to reason through complex problems, debug systematically or make evidence-based technical decisions, and to accumulate reusable cases and facts across sessions. It is a thinking layer only, so pair it with an assistant that already handles files and execution.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local stdio process; the README installs it from a cloned repository with pip and configures it as a Python module, while the manifest lists an npm package run with npx. Optional environment variables BRAIN_LOG_LEVEL and BRAIN_USE_SQLITE. No authentication declared.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Bolor Brain Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
README
Bolor Brain MCP
Pure intelligence for Claude Code. Reasoning, memory, and learning -- nothing else.
[License: MIT] [Python 3.11+] [MCP Compatible]
What Is This?
Bolor Brain is an MCP server that gives Claude Code a brain: structured reasoning, persistent memory, and learning from experience.
- Claude Code = Gateway + tool execution + sessions + permissions
- Bolor Brain = Reasoning engines + memory + learning + persistence
- NSAF = Strategy evolution + self-improvement (separate MCP server)
Bolor Brain does NOT execute anything. No file ops, no scheduling, no autonomous loop. Claude Code already does all of that. Bolor Brain only thinks.
Quick Start
1. Install
2. Configure Claude Code
Add to ~/.claude/mcp-config.json:

Persistence
Brain state persists to ~/.bolor-brain/ as JSON:
Knowledge compounds over time. Solve a bug once, recall the solution instantly next time.
With NSAF
Add NSAF to get evolution capabilities:
Together: Bolor Brain reasons about WHAT to do. NSAF evolves HOW to do it better. Claude Code executes.
See skills/nsaf.md and skills/orchestrate.md for combined workflows.

Score
50% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
- Tools listed15 pts
Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.

Other Brain integrations

BrainDog
dog.brainOfficial publisher
BrainDog is a hosted record of projects, decisions and money that connected AI agents read before starting work and write their results into.

Codebase Brain
Published by GitHub account Nomannazir
Indexes a local or public git codebase so an assistant can search it, trace git history, check change impact and find stale docs, all with path:line citations.

Personal Brain
Published by GitHub account zhang-liz
Gives an AI assistant memory of your professional network, stored as a graph in FalkorDB, so it can look up contacts, find people by topic, and save who you…

Second Brain
Published by GitHub account ara-5
Shared Graph-RAG memory for AI agents: markdown vault, wikilink recall, tasks, messaging.

Make0 Brain
Published by GitHub account make0-official
Local, offline memory server that gives Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and other MCP agents one shared, versioned store of durable facts.
