Indian Stock Exchange
io.github.prakharv-opsv2.0.0Updated Oct 11, 2026
Indian stocks (NSE/BSE): quotes, fundamentals, analyst targets, IPOs, mutual funds, commodities.
Overview
Read-only MCP server giving an assistant live Indian stock market data: NSE/BSE quotes, fundamentals, analyst targets, IPOs, mutual funds and commodities.
- What it does
- Exposes 27 read-only tools covering Indian equities and funds. It resolves names to NSE/BSE codes, returns price snapshots, history, financial statements, shareholding patterns, analyst estimates and price targets, corporate actions and filings, plus market movers, news, IPO calendars, MCX commodity futures and mutual fund search and details. It also ships five analysis prompts and three resources, including a per-stock resource. Output is condensed for analysis rather than raw API dumps.
- When to use it
- Useful when an assistant needs current Indian market information for research-style questions: comparing listed companies, drafting a stock note, checking what moved the market, reviewing upcoming IPOs or shortlisting mutual funds. Not intended for trading or portfolio execution.
- Requirements
- Runs locally over stdio as an npm package; Node.js 20 or newer is required. An API key from indianapi.in must be supplied through the ISE_API_KEY environment variable (or a .env file). An optional HTTP mode binds to localhost by default, with HOST and PORT overrides. Network access to the data provider is needed.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Indian Stock Exchange in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
README
Indian Stock Exchange MCP Server
An MCP server that gives Claude (and any MCP client) live access to the Indian market: NSE/BSE equities, fundamentals, analyst targets, IPOs, mutual funds and commodities. Ask things like:
- "Compare TCS, Infosys and Wipro on valuation, margins and momentum."
- "Give me a research note on Reliance: financials, shareholding changes, analyst targets and recent filings."
- "What's moving the market today? Any IPOs opening this week?"
- "Shortlist the best mid-cap mutual funds by 3-year return and compare the top three."
Data comes from the Indian Stock Market API.
[Demo: the compare-stocks tool returning TCS, Infosys and Wipro side by side]
Real output from the compare-stocks tool. Regenerate it with node scripts/capture-demo.mjs && scripts/render-demo.sh.
