MCP Server for adding bookmarks in openai RAG
Overview
A local MCP server that lets an assistant save URL bookmarks with titles and descriptions and search them semantically using OpenAI RAG.
- What you can do
- Save bookmarks: store a URL with an optional title and description
- Search bookmarks: run semantic queries across saved bookmark titles and descriptions
- Use OpenAI embeddings for AI-powered categorization and search enhancement
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to keep a personal collection of links and later find them by meaning rather than exact keywords, for example saving a tutorial now and asking for it later.
- Requirements
- Runs locally as a Python package (mcp-bookmark-server) via uvx; needs Python 3.11+, an OpenAI API key supplied in the OPENAI_API_KEY environment variable, and internet access for GitHub repository access.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Mcp Bookmark in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
