Read-only Claude access to WordPress over MCP: secrets hidden, sandboxed, works on broken sites.
Overview
Read-only MCP server that lets an assistant inspect a WordPress site's files, WP-CLI data and WooCommerce catalog, with secrets and paths outside the site…
- What you can do
- Read, list and search theme and plugin files inside the site folder
- Run read-only WP-CLI queries: versions, plugin and theme lists, checksums, cron, users
- Inspect WooCommerce products, stock, prices, coupons, shipping and taxes
- Get a site overview with version and pending updates, and check whether the site is up
- Produce a client-ready health and security report via the included wp-care-report skill
- When to use it
- Useful for debugging a WordPress site, auditing it, or answering "where does this text come from?" without shell access to the server. It runs outside WordPress, so it can still inspect a site that shows a critical error. The Free edition covers a single site and cannot make changes.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process on the user's machine, typically launched over SSH to the server that hosts the site. The server needs Python with a virtual environment, PHP CLI, MySQL client and WP-CLI installed, plus a config file listing the site root. It must run as a user that can read the site files. No API keys or environment variables are declared.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open PressBridge in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Then ask Claude: "Give me a health overview of mysite" or "Where in the theme is the footer phone number set?"
The full user guide, with every command, config option and tool, is in GUIDE.md (features marked Pro aren't in this edition).
Want Claude to fix things too?
PressBridge Pro adds editing with automatic backups and one-call undo, a check after every change that rolls it back automatically if it broke the site, PHP syntax checks before saving, plugin/theme/core updates, unlimited sites, a remote HTTPS server with Docker and automatic certificates, the audit log, and skills for safe edits and safe updates.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
