Overview

AI-generated overview

Local MCP server that gives an assistant AST-based analysis of TypeScript and JavaScript projects: structure, symbols, dependencies, dead code and change risk.

What you can do
  • Map a project's structure, frameworks, package manager and language distribution
  • Locate functions, classes, interfaces, types and variables across the project
  • Trace incoming, outgoing and external dependencies of a file
  • Estimate blast radius and modification risk (LOW to CRITICAL) for a target module
  • Find unreferenced exports and report broken imports or circular dependency loops
  • Return concise, token-optimized project context for coding agents
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to understand an unfamiliar TypeScript or JavaScript codebase before editing it, or when you want dependency, dead-code and change-risk checks to guide a refactor or review.
Requirements
Runs as a local stdio process installed from the npm package @radwanalmsora26/devlens-mcp, so Node.js and npm are needed. No authentication, environment variables or headers are declared. Desktop only; it analyzes projects on the local machine.
Before you install
It reads project source files on your machine to build its analysis; point it only at codebases you are comfortable exposing to the assistant. Results are static heuristics, so risk and dead-code findings should be verified before acting on them.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Devlens Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
