Manage social publishing workflows through OpenPost

Overview

AI-generated overview

OpenPost lets an assistant create drafts, schedule social posts, and check publishing results across many social platforms.

What you can do
OpenPost is a social publishing platform exposed over MCP at a remote endpoint. Through it an assistant can create drafts, schedule posts, and check publishing results from scripts, agents, or n8n workflows, alongside the platform's own API, SDK, and CLI. The broader product also covers composing per-platform posts, calendars and queues, media libraries, workflows, inbox replies, and analytics.
When to use it
Worth adding when an assistant should draft, schedule, or monitor social content across connected accounts without leaving the chat. It suits teams already using OpenPost for publishing, or those wanting agent-driven posting workflows. It is not needed for purely local writing with no publishing step.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint at app.openpo.st over streamable HTTP; no package install is declared. A hosted OpenPost account is needed, and hosted signups are temporarily waitlisted while platform approvals finish, though existing accounts can sign in. Self-hosting is possible with Docker Compose. Social accounts must be connected, and some integrations need provider app approval or publicly reachable media URLs.
Before you install
The server can create and schedule posts and, on supported networks, set up auto reposts, so assistant actions may publish content publicly. It also reads and replies to comments and direct messages on supported platforms, and analytics data is compared across accounts. Some integrations connect with instance credentials or OAuth per instance, and provider app approval may be required. Review drafts before scheduling.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open OpenPost in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.rodrgds%2Fopenpost/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

What you can do

Home shows upcoming posts and the replies, failures, and connections that need your attention. Use Posts to switch between the list and calendar, and Studio to open the image editor, video editor, Quick Cut, or Recorder. Choose New post in your profile's Preferences to open the app on the composer instead.

Demos and linked screenshots use sample data.

  • [Image] Connect accounts. Manage your social connections in one workspace. Each provider keeps its own capabilities and publishing limits.
  • [Image] Compose for each platform. Write posts and threads, then adjust the text and media for each account. Preview each version before publishing. Save account groups as Social Sets to reuse them.
  • [Image] Calendar and queues. Choose a publishing time or the next free slot in a queue. Plan your posts in the calendar, stagger publishing across accounts, and get reminders when your queue runs low.
  • [Image] Workflows. Turn GitHub releases, RSS feeds, and scheduled prompts into drafts. Connect steps on a visual canvas, add AI or conditions, review posts before scheduling, and inspect each run. Use HTTP requests and JavaScript for custom data.
  • [Image] Auto repost. Set delays and engagement rules for native reposts on supported networks. Override the defaults for individual posts.
  • [Image] Media library. Keep reusable images, videos, fonts, and brand assets in your workspace. Organize files with tags, collections, and favorites. Attach saved media without uploading it again.
  • [Image] Meme maker. Pick a template, edit its captions, and replace its images. Save the result to your media library or attach it to a post.
  • [Image] Inbox and messages. Read and reply to supported comments and direct messages without switching between social apps. View the mobile Inbox screens.
  • [Image] Analytics and repurposing. Compare post results and track audience changes across your accounts. Use a previous post as the starting point for a new draft.
  • [Image] Find people. Find accounts to follow on Bluesky and Mastodon. Review the suggestions and choose who to follow.
  • [Image] AI writing and ideas. Generate ideas, compare draft directions, and adapt posts for your selected platforms. You review the result before publishing. AI writing is optional. Self-hosted AI setup.
  • [Image] API, SDK, CLI, MCP, and n8n. Create drafts, schedule posts, and check publishing results from your scripts, agents, or n8n workflows. Install the TypeScript SDK or the CLI from npm. See the API reference for endpoints.
  • [Image] Teams and workspaces. Keep brands and clients in separate workspaces and control who can edit them. Protect your account with passkeys, two-factor authentication, and session controls.

Design images and carousels

Design thumbnails and multi-page carousels with layers, templates, and custom fonts. Remove backgrounds in your browser, then export your design or attach it to a post. Try the image editor · Image editor guide

Edit and record videos

Trim and arrange clips on a multitrack timeline. Add captions, animations, transitions, effects, and audio, or cut footage by selecting words in its transcript. The Recorder captures your screen, camera, and microphone for the same timeline. Try the video editor · Video editor guide
