Requirements
Runs locally over stdio, typically via npx with the npm package. Needs Node.js and network access to RunAPI. Task tools require a RunAPI account: either the login tool (browser PKCE flow writing to the RunAPI config file) or the RUNAPI_API_KEY environment variable for headless hosts. Pricing lookup works without a key.
Before you install
Generation tasks are paid RunAPI requests, so confirm cost and scope before expensive or batch runs; the server itself advises confirming before long or costly requests. The login tool stores an API key in a local config file, which should not be committed. Task creation sends prompts and audio inputs to RunAPI as a third party, and results are returned as URLs rather than inspected media.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Suno Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Why This Package?

@runapi.ai/suno-mcp is a focused Model Context Protocol server for the Suno model line on RunAPI. It gives MCP-compatible assistants direct access to 18 endpoints and 9 model variants without loading the full RunAPI catalog.

Use this per-model server when an agent should stay scoped to Suno. Use @runapi.ai/mcp when one assistant should discover every RunAPI model line.

Add it to Claude Code:

check_pricing works before sign-in. For task creation and status polling, ask your assistant to call the login tool. It opens a browser login and saves credentials to ~/.config/runapi/config.json, the same file used by runapi login. Headless and CI hosts can still set RUNAPI_API_KEY before starting the MCP host.

Configuration

The server resolves auth in this order:

  1. RUNAPI_API_KEY environment variable, useful for headless and CI hosts
  2. ~/.config/runapi/config.json, created by the MCP login tool or runapi login
  3. No key, which still allows check_pricing

The config file is normally managed by login. A pre-provisioned headless config can use:
