Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant generate markdown tables, tables of contents, shields.io badges, and convert basic markdown to HTML.

What you can do
A local markdown utility server exposing four tools: generate_table builds a markdown table from supplied headers and rows, generate_toc builds a table of contents from markdown headings, generate_badges produces shields.io badge markdown for a project, and markdown_to_html converts basic markdown (headings, bold, italic, code, links, lists, paragraphs) to HTML.
When to use it
Useful when writing or maintaining README files, documentation, or other markdown content and you want tables, a table of contents, badges, or an HTML rendering produced without manual formatting.
Requirements
Runs locally over stdio, typically started with npx markdown-forge-mcp, so Node.js and npm are needed. No authentication, environment variables, or headers are declared. Desktop-only; not available as a web executable.
Before you install
The tools generate text output only; the input does not show writes, deletions, network calls, or credentials. Badge generation references shields.io in the produced markdown, so any resulting image URLs point at that third-party service.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Markdown Forge Mcp in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

40% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
