Record an agent's decisions with reasons anyone can re-execute offline — verify recomputes them.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant file signed, hash-addressed decision records into a local warrant store and verify that store's integrity.

What you can do
Exposes three tools: warrant_file_decision files a propose, accept, reject or supersede record with prose reasons and optional re-runnable checks, returning the warrant id; warrant_verify_store verifies every hash, signature and link and returns the CLI's verify report; warrant_show_reason returns a warrant's decision, actor, reasons and verified why chain, re-executing ski@v1 checks locally. The store is initialized on first use, and the server runs the warrant CLI as a subprocess.
When to use it
Use it when an agent should deliberately record its own decisions, with reasons that can be re-executed offline, into a local evidence store. It is not the sealing proxy for someone else's MCP server; if you want to record what an existing server is doing, this is the wrong tool.
Requirements
A local Python runtime with the warrant-verify package (0.8.0 or newer) installed, or a checkout run directly. Configure the store path via --store or WARRANT_STORE, preferably absolute; the actor via --actor or WARRANT_ACTOR; and the signing key via --key or WARRANT_KEY. The warrant CLI must be available, by default beside the module or on PATH.
Before you install
The server signs with a local key: if WARRANT_KEY is unset it generates one next to the store and says so in the first filing, and any process on the same host that can read that file can sign as this actor. Filing writes records into the store. A warrant proves integrity and signature, not that the agent's prose claims are true, and it gates nothing; a hostile client can file signed junk.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Warrant in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Score

25% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.

Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
