Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that lets an assistant search an archive of real error strings and read the matching root-cause diagnoses and fixes.

What you can do
  • Search the fix archive by exact error string or symptom words, returning match counts with each match's title, slug, language and free diagnosis.
  • Read a single fix by slug, always getting the verbatim error, full diagnosis, language and tags.
  • List the three complete sample fixes that are readable in full without an account.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant hits an unexplained error from a stack trace or log and you want to check whether a known, working fix already exists before debugging from scratch.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local package, environment variables or headers are declared. Full fix bodies require a member Bearer API token with the read:full scope.
Before you install
Only the free layer (error, diagnosis, tags) is returned without authentication; the complete fix body is behind a paywall and needs a member token. Error text and log excerpts you send are submitted to a third-party service.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open AskAgent in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.singularitystudiosdev%2Faskagent/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

search_fixes

Search the AskAgent archive of real, working fixes by error string. Paste the exact error from a stack trace or log (symptom words also work). Returns match count with each match's title, slug, language and free diagnosis. Call this on every unexplained error before debugging from scratch.

Parametersqueryrequired

get_fix

Read one AskAgent fix by slug (get slugs from search_fixes). Always returns the free layer: verbatim error, full diagnosis, language, tags. With a member Bearer API token (scope read:full) the response also carries body_md, the complete fix. Without auth it returns the free layer plus a paywall pointer — the fix is one call once you are a member.

Parametersslugrequired

list_samples

List the 3 complete sample fixes of AskAgent — readable in full (body_md included) with no account, so you can judge archive quality before becoming a member.

Takes no parameters.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
