HiveCompute MCP Server — decentralized inference router for AI agents
Overview
Hive Compute is a remote MCP server that routes AI agents to OpenAI-compatible chat completions and embeddings, billed per token in USDC on Base.
- What you can do
- Run chat completions through an OpenAI-compatible inference broker that routes to the cheapest qualifying model, with an auto model option and an agent DID argument per request. Generate embeddings and list available models. Paid calls are settled on-chain via x402 micropayments in USDC on Base L2, using an access token obtained from a separate quote-and-pay flow.
- When to use it
- Use it when an assistant needs LLM inference or embeddings without managing provider accounts or API keys, and when paying per token in USDC on Base is acceptable. It suits agent workflows that already handle x402 payment tokens.
- Requirements
- A remote Streamable-HTTP endpoint; no local runtime, account or API key is declared. Each paid call needs an x402 access token obtained by requesting a quote and paying USDC on Base (chain 8453) beforehand. Network access to the gateway and the quote service.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Hive Compute in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.srotzin%2Fhive-mcp-compute/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config.

MCP server for HiveCompute — OpenAI-compatible inference router for the Hive agent economy. Chat completions, embeddings, and model listings. Hive routes to the cheapest qualifying model. Billed per token in USDC on Base L2. Real rails.
What this is
hive-mcp-compute is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes the HiveCompute platform on the Hive Civilization to any MCP-compatible client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Manus, etc.). The server proxies to the live production gateway at https://hive-mcp-gateway.onrender.com.
- Protocol: MCP 2024-11-05 over Streamable-HTTP / JSON-RPC 2.0
- x402 micropayments: every paid call produces a real on-chain settlement
- Rails: USDC on Base L2 — real rails, no mocks
