Overview

AI-generated overview

Testera is a hosted MCP server for free test management, letting an assistant create and manage projects, test cases, plans, runs, environments and tasks from…

What you can do
  • Read profile and list or create projects
  • List, create and update test cases
  • List and create test plans, including user journeys
  • List, create and update test runs
  • Work with environments, tasks, labels and assignees
When to use it
Useful when a team keeps its QA work in Testera and wants an assistant to draft test cases, assemble plans and record runs without switching to a separate tracker. It suits chat-driven test management inside Cursor or another MCP client.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint at mcp.testera.io; no local package. A Testera account signed in via OAuth (email/password or Google) is required; optionally an API key from Testera settings sent as an Authorization Bearer header. Network access to the hosted server.
Before you install
The server can create and update test cases, plans, runs and other records in your Testera workspace, so changes are written to shared project data. OAuth sign-in grants access to your account; an optional API key is a secret that should be stored carefully rather than shared. Test data is held by the Testera vendor.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Testera in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.sslugic%2Ftestera/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

Auth

Preferred: OAuth Connect (no API key in config). This plugin ships:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "testera": {      "url": "https://mcp.testera.io/mcp"    }  }}

Optional API key: create a key in Testera → Settings → API Keys, then add headers manually:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "testera": {      "url": "https://mcp.testera.io/mcp",      "headers": {        "Authorization": "Bearer tk_<keyId>_<secret>"      }    }  }}
