Overview

AI-generated overview

Offline music-math MCP server that converts tempo to note durations and translates between note names, frequencies and MIDI numbers.

What you can do
  • Convert quarter-note BPM into note durations and bar or phrase lengths
  • Convert scientific pitch notation to frequency in Hz and MIDI number
  • Find the nearest equal-tempered note and cents deviation for a frequency
  • All calculations run locally with arithmetic and bundled reference data
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs quick, exact music timing or pitch arithmetic, such as planning note lengths at a given tempo or checking whether a frequency is in tune. It is a calculator only, so it is not for generating or converting audio.
Requirements
Runs as a local process; the bundle is installed in a client that supports MCP bundles, and Node.js 20.19+ is required. No environment variables, credentials, accounts or network access are needed.
Before you install
The package only performs music calculations and does not generate or convert audio. The README notes that the same bundle family also ships a separate Tesla wrap utility package, which is a different server and not part of this one.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Voice To Instrument — Music Utilities in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

README

Offline MCP tools

Two small MCP servers for music timing and Tesla wrap preparation. Every tool runs locally using arithmetic or bundled reference data. No API key, account, network request, telemetry or website backend connection is required.

Voice To Instrument — Music Utilities

From Voice To Instrument.

  • tempo_to_timing: quarter-note BPM to note durations and bar length.
  • note_to_frequency: scientific pitch notation to Hz and MIDI number.
  • frequency_to_note: nearest equal-tempered note and cents deviation.

For example, 120 BPM gives a 500 ms quarter note, a 375 ms dotted eighth and an 8-second four-bar phrase in 4/4. A4 is 440 Hz with the default tuning. This package performs music calculations; it does not generate or convert audio.

Tesla Wrap Generator — Template Utilities

From Tesla Wrap Generator.

  • list_vehicle_templates: filter 12 bundled model/trim templates by family.
  • validate_wrap_metadata: check dimensions, filename and byte size supplied by the caller against the selected template.

The catalog references Tesla's published templates, checked on October 17, 2026. The native Cybertruck template is 1024 × 768; the other bundled templates are 1024 × 1024. Reference links are returned as text and are never downloaded by the server. No template images are bundled.

Checks use conservative limits of 1,000,000 bytes and a 30-character filename including .png. They check supplied metadata only, not file contents, panel alignment or acceptance by a particular vehicle/software version. This package does not generate wraps. It is not affiliated with Tesla, Inc.

Install

Download the appropriate .mcpb file from Releases and install it in a client supporting MCP bundles. Node.js 20.19+ is required. No environment variables or credentials are needed.

For a client configured using JSON, extract the bundle (it is a ZIP archive) and use the absolute path to its server/index.cjs:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "music-utilities": {      "command": "node",      "args": ["/absolute/path/to/extracted/voice/server/index.cjs"]    },    "wrap-utilities": {      "command": "node",      "args": ["/absolute/path/to/extracted/tesla/server/index.cjs"]    }  }}

Development

sh
npm cinpm testnpm run buildnpm run smoke

The smoke test connects through the MCP client SDK and calls every tool in each extracted bundle. On macOS the child servers run with OS-level network access denied. Bundle hashes and Registry metadata are generated by the build.

Registry identifiers:

Score

50% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
