DataLikers

Instagram & TikTok data tools: demographic user search, analytics, posts, comments, hashtags.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant query Instagram and TikTok data through the DataLikers API, including user search, posts, comments, hashtags, and analytics.

What it does
DataLikers exposes 29 tools covering Instagram and TikTok data. Users tools look up profiles by username or ID, search users, find users by hashtag or location, list top and business accounts, search by demographics such as gender, age, and country, fetch profile photos, and get engagement averages. Other tools cover posts and reels, caption and comment search, hashtag info and trends, locations, stories and highlights, music tracks, and database statistics.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs social media research or audience analysis: finding creators or business accounts, checking engagement, exploring hashtags and trends, or searching posts and comments by text. It is a paid data API, so it fits evaluation or production use where the request cost is acceptable.
Requirements
A DataLikers API key, supplied as the DATALIKERS_API_KEY environment variable or as an Authorization bearer header. The server runs either as a remote endpoint or locally via the npm package datalikers-mcp with Node.js and npx. Network access to the DataLikers API is required. An optional DATALIKERS_URL variable points at a self-hosted instance.
Before you install
The API key is a secret and is sent to the DataLikers service; keep it out of shared configs. Requests are billed, with pricing from $0.0003 per request and 100 free requests on signup, so heavy use costs money. All requests are forwarded to the DataLikers API, and the server is a thin proxy that does no local processing.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open DataLikers in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Quick Start

  1. Get your API key at datalikers.com
  2. Install in your AI assistant (see below)
  3. Ask Claude: "Find Instagram users in New York with 10k+ followers"

Claude Desktop

Add to your claude_desktop_config.json:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "datalikers": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "datalikers-mcp"],      "env": {        "DATALIKERS_API_KEY": "your-api-key"      }    }  }}

Claude Code

bash
claude mcp add datalikers -- npx -y datalikers-mcp \  --env DATALIKERS_API_KEY=your-api-key

Cursor

Add to Cursor MCP settings (.cursor/mcp.json):

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "datalikers": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "datalikers-mcp"],      "env": {        "DATALIKERS_API_KEY": "your-api-key"      }    }  }}

Windsurf

Add to ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "datalikers": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "datalikers-mcp"],      "env": {        "DATALIKERS_API_KEY": "your-api-key"      }    }  }}

Configuration

Environment VariableDescriptionRequired
DATALIKERS_API_KEYYour DataLikers API keyYes
DATALIKERS_URLCustom server URL (for self-hosted instances)No

Development

bash
git clone https://github.com/subzeroid/datalikers-mcp.gitcd datalikers-mcpnpm installnpm run build

Run tests:

bash
DATALIKERS_API_KEY=your-key npm test

Tests without DATALIKERS_API_KEY will skip integration tests and only run unit tests.

How It Works

This is a thin proxy that connects to the DataLikers remote MCP server and exposes all its tools locally via stdio transport. No data processing happens locally — all requests are forwarded to the DataLikers API.
