Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant browse TapColor coloring categories and collections through the TapColor Developer API.

What it does
This MCP server exposes two tools over stdio: list_categories returns all 25 coloring categories with collection and page counts, and list_coloring_pages returns collections with optional category, search query, limit and offset parameters. It is built on the official TapColor API client and is intended for assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT.
When to use it
Use it when you want an assistant to look up TapColor coloring categories or find coloring collections by category or search term, for example listing animal coloring collections.
Requirements
Runs locally as an npm package (@tapcolorapp/mcp) over stdio, so Node.js and npx are needed. A TapColor API key is required and passed in the TAPCOLOR_API_KEY environment variable; keys are requested from the provider. Network access to the TapColor API is required. Desktop only.
Before you install
The server requires the secret TAPCOLOR_API_KEY, which it sends to the TapColor API as the api-key header, so the key is shared with that third party. Both tools are read-only lookups; no writing, sending or deleting is described. Keep the key out of shared configuration files.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Tapcolor in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
