Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant control the TayPE desktop DAW on macOS locally through MCP, for multitrack audio work in an existing session.

What you can do
  • Control the TayPE multitrack digital audio workstation running locally on the same Mac.
  • Work with sessions, recording and editing inside the DAW from an assistant conversation.
  • Use the DAW's built-in console tone and VST3 plugin hosting as part of the workflow.
  • The manifest lists no individual tools, so the exact set of actions is not documented here.
When to use it
For macOS musicians and producers who already use TayPE and want an assistant to drive the DAW locally rather than switching between apps. It is a companion to the desktop application, not a standalone audio service.
Requirements
A local macOS machine (macOS 12 Monterey or later; Apple Silicon native with Intel support) with the TayPE desktop app installed and running. The server runs as a local stdio process; no packages, environment variables, headers or authentication are declared. A licence is needed for audio export after the 90-day demo.
Before you install
It drives a real DAW session, so assistant actions can change or overwrite recordings and edits; saving, recording and editing are never blocked by licensing. Audio export requires a paid licence after the 90-day demo (Personal £75, Commercial £150). macOS only; no Windows or Linux build is offered yet.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open TayPE MCP in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
