Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote LLM Gateway MCP server that lets an assistant chat with many LLMs, generate images, browse models, and check usage and costs.

What you can do
  • Chat with any LLM through the gateway's unified API
  • Generate images from prompts
  • Browse and compare available models
  • Check account usage and spending costs
When to use it
Useful when you want one assistant connection that can reach multiple LLM providers and image generation without wiring up each provider separately, and when you want to see what your usage costs.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint at api.llmgateway.io; no local install. Requires an LLM Gateway account and an API key sent as an Authorization header in the form Bearer plus the key, created from the LLM Gateway dashboard. OAuth authentication is declared as required.
Before you install
The API key is a secret sent in the Authorization header; keep it out of logs and shared configs. Requests, prompts and generated content go to the LLM Gateway service and the model providers behind it. Usage is billed, so chat and image generation can incur costs; check usage and spending regularly.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open LLM Gateway in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.theopenco%2Fllmgateway/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.
