Bootstrap Linear projects from natural language — milestones, epics, issues, and dependencies.

The publisher's own server: Linear

Overview

AI-generated overview

Local MCP server that turns natural-language descriptions into Linear projects with milestones, epics, issues and dependencies.

What you can do
  • Generate a Linear project plan from a natural-language description, using an LLM to draft milestones, epics, issues and their dependencies.
  • Create the resulting structure in Linear through the Linear API.
  • Runs as a local stdio process started by the assistant; the manifest lists no individual tools.
When to use it
Useful when you want to stand up a new Linear project quickly from a written brief instead of building milestones, epics and issues by hand, and you are comfortable giving it both a Linear API key and an LLM provider key.
Requirements
Runs locally as an npm package over stdio, so Node.js is needed. Requires LINEAR_API_KEY for Linear access, plus LLM_API_KEY, LLM_BASE_URL and LLM_MODEL for an OpenAI-compatible model provider. Network access to both Linear and the LLM endpoint.
Before you install
Needs two secrets: a Linear API key and an LLM provider key. The natural-language brief and generated plan are sent to the configured third-party LLM endpoint. It writes new projects, issues and dependencies into your Linear workspace, so review the generated plan before it is applied.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Linear Bootstrap in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Score

50% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.

  • Tools listed15 pts

Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
