Overview

AI-generated overview

A remote MCP server that gives an assistant read-only public transit data: departure boards, nearby stop lookup, place search and step-by-step journey planning.

What you can do
Look up departure boards for a known stop, optionally filtered by route pattern or up to five destinations, and find nearby stops or stations by place name, with rail results when trains are requested. Search Apple Maps place candidates and get place IDs for ambiguous origins or destinations. Plan compact step-by-step public transit journeys between named places, returning clarification candidates instead of guessing. Retrieve city coverage metadata and canonical links for supported cities.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to answer questions about bus or train departures, find the nearest stop to a place, or plan a public transit trip in a supported city, without any local setup.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at livebustimes.org; no package, account, API key or environment variable is declared. Network access is required, and place resolution relies on Apple Maps.
Before you install
Read-only: it returns transit and place data but does not book, buy tickets or change anything. Place names and stop queries are sent to the remote service and to Apple Maps for resolution, so avoid including sensitive personal details in queries.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Live Times Transit in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.travelwhiz-ltd%2Flive-times-transit/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
