Overview

AI-generated overview

Snap Router maps a plain-language task to ranked x402 and MCP tools from a merged catalog of 16k+ entries, with a free daily tier and pay-per-call beyond it.

What you can do
  • Rank tools for a task: send a task description and get back the x402 and MCP tools that best serve it, drawn from the merged x402 Bazaar and MCP Registry catalog.
  • Tune the result set: the request accepts a result count so the assistant can ask for a few candidates or a wider list.
  • Run without an LLM call: one pass returns in roughly 200ms, so it can be used repeatedly while planning.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to find which external tool or MCP server can handle a task and the candidate space is too large to browse by hand. It suits agent setups that want fast, ranked tool discovery rather than keyword search.
Requirements
Runs as a local Python package (pip install snap-router-mcp, or uvx without installing) over stdio. Requires network access to the hosted API at the base URL set in SNAP_API. No account or signup; a free tier of 25 calls per day per IP applies.
Before you install
Calls past the free tier are paid per call in USDC on Base via x402, and the optional SNAP_XPAYMENT secret carries a base64 payment payload that authorizes spending. Task text is sent to the hosted third-party API at SNAP_API. Desktop-only local process; no authentication is declared.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Snap Router in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Snap Router — MCP server

Task-to-tool discovery for AI agents, pay-per-call in USDC on Base (x402), free tier, no signup.

Hosted API: https://trigeochiral.com — set it as SNAP_API.

Tool

ToolWhat
snap_routerYour task → the ranked x402 / MCP tools that serve it, over the merged x402 Bazaar + MCP Registry catalog (16k+). One pass, ~200ms, no LLM call. $0.003

Why

Past ~2,000 tools, semantic retrieval beats keyword and beats long-context. Coinbase's Bazaar /ask is LLM-ranked (a model call on every task); 402index falls back to keyword-only when its embedding service times out. Snap Router has neither hole.

Install

bash
pip install snap-router-mcpclaude mcp add snap-router --env SNAP_API=https://trigeochiral.com -- snap-router-mcp

or with uvx (no install):

bash
claude mcp add snap-router --env SNAP_API=https://trigeochiral.com -- uvx snap-router-mcp

Optional: SNAP_XPAYMENT = a base64 x402 X-PAYMENT payload, to make paid calls past the free tier. Without it you get 25 free calls/day per IP.

Direct HTTP (no MCP)

bash
curl -sX POST https://trigeochiral.com/v1/snap -H 'content-type: application/json' \ -d '{"task":"check a base token for honeypot before trading","k":4}'

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
