Economic Calendar & News Risk
io.github.tylerscomic-labv1.0.0Updated Oct 2, 2026
FOMC/NFP/CPI economic calendar plus prop-firm news-restriction window checks for futures traders.
Overview
Lets an assistant list upcoming high-impact economic events and check whether a prop firm's news-restriction window is currently active.
- What it does
- Provides an economic calendar covering FOMC, NFP, CPI, PPI, GDP, ISM, EIA, JOLTS and retail sales, each tagged with affected instruments and typical impact. Tools include get_upcoming_events for the next N days, get_high_impact_events for specific instruments this week with expected move sizes, check_trading_restriction for whether a prop firm's news-restriction window is active now or within the next N minutes, and calculate_news_risk_score, a 1-10 risk score with a plain recommendation.
- When to use it
- Useful for futures or prop-firm traders who want to avoid placing trades during news blackout windows, or who want a quick read on upcoming high-impact releases and the risk of trading right now.
- Requirements
- Runs as a hosted remote endpoint; the README also describes a self-hosted option via npm install and node server.js, which requires Node.js. No accounts, API keys, environment variables or headers are declared.
Installation
In SourceWeft

[License: MIT] [Live on MCPize]
An MCP server that tracks high-impact economic events (FOMC, NFP, CPI, PPI, GDP, ISM, EIA inventories, and more) and checks whether a prop firm's news-restriction window is active right now — the rule that gets an otherwise-good trade disqualified for being placed during a blackout window.
The problem this solves
Most prop firms restrict trading around high-impact news releases, but "high-impact" and the exact restriction window differ by event and by firm. Missing that a CPI print is 3 minutes away, or that FOMC restrictions still apply 10 minutes after the announcement, is a quiet way to void an otherwise-clean trading day.
Tools
get_upcoming_events
Upcoming economic calendar events for the next N days — FOMC, NFP, CPI, PPI, GDP, ISM, EIA, JOLTS, retail sales, and more, each tagged with affected instruments and typical impact.
check_trading_restriction
Whether a prop firm's news-restriction window is active now or within the next N minutes.
get_high_impact_events
High-impact-only events for specific instruments this week, with expected move sizes.
calculate_news_risk_score
A 1-10 risk score for trading right now given upcoming events, with a plain recommendation.
