Search AU enterprise AI patterns, benchmarks, incidents, and regulatory changes.
Overview
A local MCP server that gives assistants searchable access to a library of Australian enterprise AI patterns, incidents, sector benchmarks and regulatory notes.
- What you can do
- Search the pattern library by full text across titles, descriptions and content, and retrieve a specific pattern with its implementation guidance. Look up notable Australian AI incidents with linked patterns and regulatory outcomes. Read AU AI Maturity Index scores for sectors such as banking, insurance, government, retail, healthcare and utilities. Check regulatory changes such as APRA CPS 230, OAIC Privacy Act reform, ASIC INFO 183 and TGA SaMD.
- When to use it
- Useful when advising on or drafting Australian enterprise AI governance, compliance or implementation material and you want the assistant to ground answers in this curated pattern library, incident list and benchmark data.
- Requirements
- Runs locally over stdio, typically launched with npx from the npm package aipatterns-mcp-server, so Node.js and npm are needed. No database connection, network calls at runtime, accounts, API keys or environment variables are required.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Aipatterns Mcp Server in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
README
aipatterns.com.au MCP Server
A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes the aipatterns.com.au pattern library, AU AI incidents, sector benchmarks, and regulatory changes as tools callable by Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and other MCP-compatible AI assistants.
What it provides
No database connection or network calls are required at runtime — all data is served from the local pattern files and hardcoded seed data.
Published on npm as aipatterns-mcp-server — no clone or build step needed, npx fetches and runs it.
Add to Claude Desktop
Edit ~/.config/claude/claude_desktop_config.json (macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json):
Restart Claude Desktop.
Add to Cursor
Create or edit .cursor/mcp.json in your project root:
Add to GitHub Copilot (VS Code MCP extension)
Add to your VS Code settings.json:
Running from source (development)
Transport
stdio — the server reads JSON-RPC from stdin and writes responses to stdout. stderr is used for diagnostic messages only.

Score
50% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
- Tools listed15 pts
Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
