Overview

AI-generated overview

A local MCP server that connects an assistant to Canva, letting it create designs, manage assets, use templates and export graphics.

What you can do
Create designs in Canva from an assistant conversation, including starting from templates. Manage design assets such as uploaded images and files. Export finished graphics for use elsewhere. The manifest lists no individual tools, so exact operations are not documented here.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to produce or adapt Canva designs, reuse existing templates, or export finished graphics without switching to the Canva interface manually.
Requirements
Runs as a local process on the user's machine, installed from the canva-mcp PyPI package, so a Python environment is needed. Requires a Canva Connect API client ID and secret, supplied through the CANVA_CLIENT_ID and CANVA_CLIENT_SECRET environment variables, obtained from the Canva developer site. Desktop only; no web-hosted option.
Before you install
The server needs Canva Connect API credentials (CANVA_CLIENT_ID and CANVA_CLIENT_SECRET); treat the secret as sensitive and keep it out of shared configuration. It can create and export designs in your Canva account, so changes may affect real content. Review what it does before granting access to an account holding important material.

Score

25% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.

  • Tools listed15 pts

Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
