A workspace where you and your agents create and revise Docs, HTML tools, drawings, and Records.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Worktable is a remote workspace where an assistant creates and revises documents, drawings, structured records, and interactive HTML tools alongside you.

What you can do
  • Create and revise linked documents holding research, plans, and decisions
  • Maintain structured records such as tasks, sources, and feedback with shared fields
  • Sketch and iterate on drawings, diagrams, and visual explanations
  • Build interactive tools like calculators, dashboards, and explorers, optionally backed by workspace records
  • Continue work across agents on the same saved documents, records, and tools, with comments for agents to act on
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to keep research, data, and the tools built from them together in one workspace, and to hand work between agents or continue it later. Suited to building small dashboards or explorers from saved records rather than one-off answers.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at app.worktable.cloud with OAuth sign-in. The README also describes a local macOS app or terminal install and self-hosting, and notes that local Worktable requires no account. An MCP-compatible agent with its own subscription or API credentials where required.
Before you install
Connected agent providers may process the content you give them under their own terms, so avoid sending private information. Agents can create and change documents, records, and tools in the workspace. Example prices shown in the README are illustrative, not current provider quotes.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Worktable in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.worktable%2Fworktable/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

Worktable

Worktable is an open-source workspace where you and your agents create and revise documents, drawings, structured records, and interactive tools. Connect an agent through MCP, then work together in the browser or Desktop app.

Run it locally with files you control, self-host it, or use Worktable Cloud.

Get started

Use an MCP-compatible agent, with its own subscription or API credentials where required.

macOS app: Download Worktable for Mac for Apple Silicon, macOS 13 or newer. Install and open the app, then choose This Mac.

Terminal: macOS or Linux, arm64 or x64. No separate runtime or source checkout needed.

sh
curl -fsSL https://worktable.dev/install | sh

Open the browser address printed by the installer. Run worktable to open it again later.

In either version, open Settings → Agents and connect your agent. Ask it to save research, organize records, or build a tool in Worktable.

Cloud: Worktable Cloud manages hosting for you. For other setups, see self-hosting.

What to make

  • Save your research. Keep findings, plans, and decisions in linked documents.
  • Organize your data. Maintain tasks, sources, feedback, and other records with shared fields.
  • Draw a plan. Sketch a layout, diagram, or visual explanation and revise it with an agent.
  • Build interactive tools. Create a calculator, dashboard, or explorer. Use supplied data, or connect the tool to workspace records when needed.

For example, ask an agent to research hosting options, save the sources and pricing, and build a cost explorer for your expected usage. Recheck the rates or change the assumptions later; the research, data, and tool stay together.

Continue your work

Connected agents work with the same saved documents, records, and tools. Ask another agent to continue from what's already there. You can edit the results yourself or leave comments for an agent to act on.

Your data

  • Keep work local. Local and self-hosted workspaces are backed by files you can inspect and back up. Local Worktable requires no account.
  • Move your workspace. Export and import between Local, self-hosted Worktable, and Cloud.

Connected agent providers may process the content you give them under their own terms. See workspace storage for storage and portability details.
