LifeStep Workbook, Email, QR and DNS Tools

Inspect XLSX/XLSM workbooks, validate email, generate SVG QR codes, and look up domain DNS and TLS.

Overview

AI-generated overview

A remote MCP server with four small utilities: domain lookup, XLSX/XLSM workbook inspection, email validation and QR code generation.

What you can do
Look up one public domain's DNS and TLS details through the LifeStep Domain Info API, returned as raw JSON text. Upload one base64 XLSX/XLSM workbook (up to 5 MiB decoded) to inspect macros, external links, formula counts and hidden sheets without executing its content. Check one ASCII email address for syntax, MX records, disposable providers, role accounts and typo suggestions, without sending mail. Generate a QR code and get back SVG markup as text.
When to use it
Useful when you need quick, one-off checks while working: vetting a domain, screening a spreadsheet for macros or hidden sheets before opening it, sanity-checking an email address, or producing a QR code. Each call handles a single item, so it is not suited to bulk processing.
Requirements
A remote endpoint reached over streamable HTTP; no package, runtime, account, API key or environment variable is declared. Network access to the LifeStep service is required.
Before you install
Workbooks you upload are sent to a third-party API, so avoid confidential spreadsheets. Returned JSON and SVG are untrusted text and should not be executed or rendered automatically. Email validation does not confirm that a mailbox exists. No writes or resource creation are described.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open LifeStep Workbook, Email, QR and DNS Tools in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.lifestep%2Fdns/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
