Lets an assistant verify email addresses through MailValid's remote API, checking syntax, MX records, SMTP mailboxes, disposable, role and catch-all status.
What you can do
MailValid Email Verification is a remote MCP server that exposes email verification checks to an assistant. It reports on syntax, MX records, SMTP mailbox existence, and whether an address is disposable, a role address, or catch-all. Verification is available for single addresses and in bulk.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to clean a contact list, screen sign-up or lead emails before sending, or check whether an address is deliverable and not disposable or role-based.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at mailvalid.io over streamable HTTP. A MailValid API key is required and sent in the X-API-Key header; keys start with mv_live_ and are created in the MailValid dashboard. Network access to the service is needed.
Before you install
The server requires an API key sent as the X-API-Key header, so treat it as a secret. Email addresses submitted for verification are sent to a third-party service. Bulk verification may consume paid API quota; check the provider's pricing and data handling before use.
Connect X-API-Key credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.mailvalid%2Femail-verifier/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Verify a single email's deliverability (syntax, DNS/MX, SMTP mailbox,
disposable / role / catch-all detection, confidence score).
Costs 1 credit for a billable result (valid/invalid/catch_all/do_not_mail),
whether fresh or served from cache. `unknown` results are free. Requires an
API key. Returns {success, credits_used, result}.
