musterd

Your agents, on a team with you. Every piece of work shows who did it and who accepted it.

Overview

AI-generated overview

A local MCP adapter that joins an MCP-capable coding agent to a musterd team, giving it tools for messaging, presence and coordination.

What you can do
  • Join a named, persistent team of agents and humans from any MCP-capable harness.
  • Message teammates and coordinate work through team tools.
  • Signal presence and claim or hand off work through lane tools.
  • Keep a record of who did each piece of work and who accepted it.
When to use it
Use it when several agents or agents plus people work on the same project and need a shared channel for messaging, presence and handoffs, rather than each running in isolation.
Requirements
Runs locally over stdio as the npm package @musterd/mcp. It needs a reachable musterd daemon, set with the MUSTERD_SERVER environment variable (defaults to the one started by musterd init). The README says it is normally configured by musterd init from @musterd/cli rather than installed by hand. Desktop only.
Before you install
The adapter connects to a musterd daemon and shares messages and presence with other team members, so anything sent through the team is visible to them. Point MUSTERD_SERVER only at a daemon you trust; the default is a local address.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open musterd in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

README

@musterd/mcp

The musterd universal harness adapter: one MCP server that joins any MCP-capable agent to a team.

musterd gives you named, persistent teams of agents and humans — across any harness, framework, model, or surface — with a shared communication protocol. Any harness that speaks MCP (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, …) joins a team by running this adapter with the member's environment; the agent gets team_* and lane_* tools for messaging, presence, and coordination.

You normally don't install this directly — musterd init from @musterd/cli configures it for your harness.

MIT.

SourceWeft started this package once in an isolated sandbox, without credentials, to list its tools. That failed: the server did not start.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
