What search and AI crawlers extract from any public URL. Five of nine tools need no token.
Overview
AI-generated overview
Read-only tools that show what search and AI crawlers extract from public URLs, with five of nine tools usable without an API token.
- What it does
- Pagerender exposes nine read-only tools for MCP clients, centered on analyzing what search and AI crawlers extract from a public URL or an HTML string. It ships alongside two related packages: an analyzer for HTML strings and a CLI that audits every page in a sitemap. Five of the nine tools work without a token, and three of those make no network call to Pagerender at all.
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to check how a page renders to crawlers, compare extracted content across URLs, or audit a sitemap for crawlability issues. Worth adding if you regularly inspect public pages for SEO or AI-crawler visibility and want that inside your assistant.
- Requirements
- Runs locally as a stdio process, installed from the npm package @pagerender/mcp, so Node.js and npx are needed. Desktop only; no web executable. An optional read-only API key is supplied through the PAGERENDER_TOKEN environment variable; five of the nine tools work without it. Network access is required for the tools that call Pagerender.
Before you install
The optional PAGERENDER_TOKEN is a read-only Pagerender API key and should be treated as a secret. Tools that call Pagerender send the target URLs to that third-party service, so avoid pointing them at internal, private, or authenticated pages. The tools are described as read-only, so no writes or deletions are expected.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Pagerender in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
