Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote Prisma MCP server that lets an assistant manage Prisma Postgres databases and existing Prisma Compute apps after signing in with a Prisma account.

What you can do
  • Manage Prisma Postgres databases through the hosted server
  • Manage existing Prisma Compute apps
  • Connect over Streamable HTTP at the hosted Prisma endpoint, signing in with a Prisma account
When to use it
Useful when you work with Prisma Postgres databases or already-deployed Prisma Compute apps and want an assistant to manage them from your AI tool, without building or uploading code.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint at mcp.prisma.io; no local package is needed. A Prisma account sign-in via MCP OAuth (auth.prisma.io) is required; an Authorization header is optional for clients that do not use OAuth. The older local server via npx prisma mcp shipped in Prisma ORM 6.6 to 7.x and is not in Prisma 8.
Before you install
Sign-in is required and the connection carries an Authorization credential, so treat it as an account-level secret. The server can change your Prisma Postgres databases and Compute apps, so review actions before they run. The README notes the public repository is archived and no longer maintained, so check current documentation before relying on it.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Prisma Postgres and Prisma Compute in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.prisma%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

Prisma MCP server (archived)

This repository is archived and no longer maintained.

Prisma's MCP server is hosted at https://mcp.prisma.io/mcp (Streamable HTTP). It manages Prisma Postgres databases and existing Prisma Compute apps. Sign in with a Prisma account when you connect. The server does not build or upload code.

The local server (npx prisma mcp) was part of the Prisma ORM CLI from 6.6 to 7.x. It is not in Prisma 8.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
