Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server giving assistants point-in-time US equity data: fundamentals, index constituents, SEC filing metadata and earnings events.

What you can do
  • Look up point-in-time fundamentals for a ticker as known on a given date, with source, knowledge time and lineage
  • Retrieve survivorship-free index constituents such as the S&P 500 as of a chosen date
  • List SEC filings available on a date, newest first, with amendment linkage
  • Fetch earnings events with 8-K acceptance timestamp, as-reported figures and derived price reaction
When to use it
Useful for quantitative research, backtesting and AI agent workflows that need data as it was known on a historical date rather than today's revised figures, and for checking what filings or index membership looked like at a point in time.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at api.ptdata.io; no local install. An optional Authorization header with a bearer API key raises limits to Pro/Scale; leaving it empty uses the free tier.
Before you install
The Authorization header carries an API key, so treat it as a secret. Data is read-only lookups; results are only as complete as the provider's coverage, and metrics without a value are returned as unavailable rather than omitted.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open PtData in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.ptdata%2Fptdata/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

get_index_constituents

S&P 500 (or other index) constituents as understood on `as_of_date` (YYYY-MM-DD), survivorship-free. Point-in-time, with lineage.

Parametersindexrequiredas_of_daterequired

get_fundamentals

Get point-in-time fundamentals

Point-in-time fundamentals for `ticker` as known on `as_of_date` (YYYY-MM-DD). Returns each available metric's value for the fiscal period with source + knowledge time + lineage under `metrics`. Any requested metric with no value appears under `unavailable` with `{reason, available_alternatives, docs_url}` instead of being silently dropped — e.g. asking a bank/broker/insurer for `revenue` explains that financials report an as-reported revenue FAMILY and lists the populated members (net_interest_income, noninterest_income, total_net_revenue, premiums_earned, net_investment_income, total_revenue). Check `unavailable` before concluding a figure does not exist.
