Flaky test detection, root cause analysis, and fix suggestions for development teams.
Overview
Trunk Flaky Tests MCP server that lets an assistant look up root causes and fix suggestions for flaky tests and plan test-result uploads to Trunk.
- What you can do
- Retrieve root cause analysis and fix suggestions for flaky tests
- Generate a setup plan for uploading test results to Trunk
- When to use it
- Useful for development teams already using Trunk Flaky Tests who want flaky-test diagnosis and upload setup guidance inside an IDE or AI client such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Gemini CLI.
- Requirements
- Remote streamable HTTP endpoint at no local package. OAuth 2.0 + OpenID Connect authentication with a Trunk account, prompted by the client on connect. A supported MCP client is needed; Gemini Code Assist and Windsurf are stated as unsupported.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Trunk Flaky Tests in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.trunk%2Fmcp-server/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

Trunk.io MCP Server
Leverage the power of Trunk Flaky Tests from your IDE, or the AI application of your choosing.
Use MCP Server
Trunk Flaky Tests comes with a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. AI applications like Claude Code or Cursor can use MCP servers to connect to data sources, tools, and workflows — enabling them to access key information and perform tasks.
Supported AI Applications
[!NOTE] Gemini Code Assist and Windsurf are not supported due to their limited support for MCP servers.
Quick Start
Cursor
Add to .cursor/mcp.json:
Claude Code
GitHub Copilot
Add to .vscode/mcp.json:
Gemini CLI
Add to ~/.gemini/settings.json:
