Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted ClickUp connector that lets an assistant browse workspaces, spaces, lists and tasks, search tasks, and create, update or comment on them.

What you can do
  • Identify the authorized user and list workspaces, spaces, folders and lists
  • Read tasks in a list, fetch a single task, and search or filter tasks across a workspace
  • Read comments on tasks and on lists
  • Create tasks, update task fields, and add comments to tasks
  • Check monthly usage, request a missing feature, and manage a Pro subscription
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to answer questions about ClickUp work — what is assigned to you, what is due this week, what a task's comments say — or to file and update tasks without leaving the chat.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint; no local install. Connect with the server URL only and sign in through OAuth with your ClickUp account, providing a ClickUp API token from Settings, Apps, API Token on first connect. No API key or Authorization header goes in the client config.
Before you install
Three tools write to ClickUp: creating tasks, updating tasks and adding comments; confirm before running them. The server stores your ClickUp API token per user. Usage is metered: the free plan allows 50 tool calls a month, and paid plans are billed through a Stripe checkout link returned by an upgrade tool, with no refund for the current period on cancellation.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open ClickUp MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fclickup/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

ClickUp MCP by usefulapi

Use your ClickUp account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — read teams, spaces, lists and tasks, and create, update or comment on tasks and track time. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://clickup.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://clickup.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http clickup https://clickup.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "clickup": {      "url": "https://clickup.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your ClickUp credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/clickup/

On first connect you'll provide your ClickUp API token (Settings → Apps → API Token). It is validated, stored per-user, and scoped to you — no keys in config files.
