Track time in Clockify: time entries, projects, clients, tags and reports; start, stop and log time.

The publisher's own server: Ably MCP by usefulapi

Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Clockify server that lets an assistant read, log, edit and report on time entries, timers, projects, clients, tasks and tags.

What you can do
  • Read account, workspace, member, client, project, task and tag details
  • List, inspect and filter time entries, and check the currently running timer
  • Produce summary totals and detailed entry-level reports for a date range
  • Log time, start and stop timers, and update or delete time entries
  • Create projects, tasks, clients and tags
  • Check monthly usage, request a feature, upgrade or cancel the paid plan
When to use it
Useful when you want to ask an assistant about tracked hours, e.g. hours per project last week or which client got the most time this month, or to log and adjust time without opening Clockify. It suits individual tracking and small-team reporting rather than deep accounting work.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint; no local install. Connect with the server URL only and sign in through OAuth with your Clockify credentials; do not add an API key or Authorization header. A Clockify account and workspace are required. Free tier allows 50 tool calls per month; paid plans raise the limit.
Before you install
Write tools change Clockify data: creating entries, projects, tasks, clients and tags, editing entries, and permanently deleting a time entry that cannot be undone. Updates rewrite the entry from a fresh read, so concurrent edits can be lost. Your Clockify login goes through the hosted provider. Paid plans cost money (Pro $9/month or $90/year, Pro+ $39/month or $390/year) and are billed via a Stripe checkout link; cancellation has no refund for the current period.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Clockify MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fclockify/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Clockify MCP by usefulapi

Use Clockify from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — time entries, timers, projects, clients, tasks, tags and summary or detailed reports. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own Clockify credentials.

Live endpoint: https://clockify.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/clockify

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://clockify.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http clockify https://clockify.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "clockify": {      "url": "https://clockify.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Clockify credentials.

clockify_create_time_entry

Log time or start a timer

Parametersenduser_idworkspace_id

clockify_update_time_entry

Update a time entry

WRITE: change a time entry's start, end, description, project, task, tags or billable. Only the fields you pass change: the entry is read first and every other field (custom fields included) is sent back as it was. The entry is rewritten (PUT) from a fresh read, so an edit made to the same entry in between (e.g. in the Clockify app) can be lost. A new project without task_id clears the task. GET then PUT /v1/workspaces/{workspaceId}/time-entries/{id}.
