Deputy
io.usefulapiv1.0.0Updated Sep 30, 2026
See rosters, timesheets, leave and staff in Deputy, and create shifts, leave and memos.
Overview
Lets an assistant read Deputy rosters, timesheets, leave and staff, and create shifts, leave requests and memos.
- What it does
- Deputy MCP is a hosted connector to the Deputy workforce management service. Read tools cover whoami, locations, areas, employees, shifts, timesheets, leave requests and employee unavailability, plus generic resource query and describe tools. Write tools create and update shifts, publish shifts, create leave requests, add unavailability, post memos, and update or approve timesheets. Two meta tools report usage and manage the subscription.
- When to use it
- Use it when an assistant should answer questions about Deputy scheduling and staff data, or make scheduling changes such as creating shifts, publishing rosters, filing leave requests or approving timesheets. It suits teams already running Deputy that want conversational access instead of using the Deputy interface directly.
- Requirements
- A remote MCP endpoint; no local install. You supply your Deputy install host (for example acme.au.deputy.com) and a permanent access token from the Deputy developer portal, entered on first connect and stored per user. Network access to the endpoint is required.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Deputy in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config.

Deputy MCP by usefulapi
Use Deputy from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — see rosters, timesheets, leave and staff, and create shifts, leave requests and memos. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own Deputy credentials.
Live endpoint: https://deputy.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/deputy
Add to Claude
On first connect you'll provide your Deputy install host (like acme.au.deputy.com) and a permanent access token (Deputy developer portal → OAuth Client → Get an Access Token).
They're validated, stored per-user, and scoped to you — no keys in config files.
Tools
read tools are read-only; write tools mutate data (clients should confirm them); meta tools report usage or manage your subscription.
