Updown Io
io.usefulapiv1.0.0Updated Sep 30, 2026
Check updown.io uptime checks, downtimes, response metrics and status pages, and create checks.
Overview
Lets an assistant read updown.io uptime checks, downtimes, metrics and status pages, and create or update checks, recipients and status pages.
- What it does
- A hosted MCP server for updown.io, a website uptime monitoring service. Read tools list checks, fetch a single check, list a check's downtimes, get response-time metrics, find checks with problems, and list alert recipients, status pages, monitoring nodes and node IPs. Write tools create and update checks, add alert recipients, and create or update status pages. Two meta tools report usage against the free-tier meter and manage a Pro upgrade.
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to answer questions about site uptime, recent downtime incidents or response-time trends, or to set up and adjust monitoring checks and status pages without opening the updown.io dashboard.
- Requirements
- A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; nothing is installed locally. You need an updown.io account and API key, entered on first connect (a read-only key for read tools, a read/write key to make changes). The key is stored per user by the hosted service.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Updown Io in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config.

updown.io MCP by usefulapi
Use updown.io from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — check uptime status, downtimes and response-time metrics, and create checks, recipients and status pages. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own updown.io credentials.
Live endpoint: https://updown-io.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/updown-io
Add to Claude
On first connect you'll provide your updown.io API key (Settings > API keys; read-only key for reads, read/write key to make changes). They're validated, stored per-user, and scoped to you — no keys in config files.
Tools
read tools are read-only; write tools mutate data (clients should confirm them); meta tools report usage or manage your subscription.
