Grabbit gives AI agents eyes on the web. Send a public URL, get a pixel-perfect hosted image.
Overview
Grabbit is a hosted screenshot service that lets an assistant capture any public URL as a hosted image without running a local browser.
- What you can do
- Capture a public URL as a hosted image, returned inline with remaining credits
- Retrieve a previous capture by id and browse recent captures
- Check credits, plan and 30-day usage, and view pricing with a dated competitor comparison
- When to use it
- Useful when an assistant needs to see or show what a web page looks like, especially pages with consent walls, heavy JavaScript, full-page layouts, or sites that block local headless browsers.
- Requirements
- Remote Streamable HTTP endpoint at mcp.grabbit.live; no local runtime needed. Authentication is required: OAuth 2.1 (browser sign-in) or a Bearer API key, which the Codex setup reads from the GRABBIT_API_KEY environment variable. A paid account with prepaid credits is needed for live captures.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Grabbit in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/live.grabbit%2Fscreenshots/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

Screenshots as a service, built for AI agents
[In the official MCP Registry] [npm CLI version] [Streamable HTTP transport] [MIT license]
Point your agent at a URL and get back a hosted image, with no local headless browser to run. Grabbit handles cookie and consent banners, JavaScript-heavy and full-page captures, and many sites that block a local browser.
Tools
Why a hosted screenshot tool
Most agents can already drive a headless browser. It works on simple pages and quietly fails on the ones that matter: cookie and consent walls, bot detection, login and paywall gates, and heavy client-rendered pages. Grabbit runs the capture on hosted infrastructure, so the shot comes back clean and the agent needs no browser of its own.
Honest bound: no service captures literally every site. A few hard targets behind aggressive IP blocking still resist. Private and internal addresses (including localhost) are blocked by SSRF protection.
Quick start
Claude Code
Then run /mcp and authenticate in the browser (OAuth, no key to paste).

Cursor
~/.cursor/mcp.json (commit a project-scoped .cursor/mcp.json to share with your team):

OpenClaw
Add the hosted MCP server, or wrap the one-line CLI in a skill. Guide: https://grabbit.live/agents/openclaw
Cursor Marketplace
Install Grabbit directly from the Cursor Marketplace (when listed), or add manually:
~/.cursor/mcp.json (or project-scoped .cursor/mcp.json):
This repo includes Cursor plugin packaging (.cursor-plugin/plugin.json, mcp.json, skill) for marketplace submission.
Agent Skills
This repo ships a portable skill folder (skills/grabbit-screenshots/) that teaches agents when and how to use the Grabbit hosted screenshot MCP.
Install via skills.sh
After public installs, the skill can appear on skills.sh via install telemetry (no separate submit form).
Publish to ClawHub
From the repo root:
Install via OpenClaw / Hermes
The skill is published on ClawHub at https://clawhub.ai/braingrid/skills/grabbit-screenshots
Hermes can install the same ClawHub skill (ClawHub is a Hermes skill source) and connect MCP at https://mcp.grabbit.live.
CLI
Pricing
Flat $0.002 per live capture. Prepaid credits that never reset or expire. Test keys return free placeholders so you can wire it up before paying. Full pricing and the comparison table: https://grabbit.live/#pricing

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
