Overview

AI-generated overview

Self-hosted MCP server that exposes chosen FileMaker tables and scripts as tools an AI assistant can call.

What it does
Ailimu is a self-hosted MCP server for FileMaker. It turns selected FileMaker tables and scripts into tools that AI agents can invoke, so an assistant can read or act on FileMaker data through the FileMaker account it signs in as. It runs as a local process on the user's machine and connects to the FileMaker host using the configured account.
When to use it
Worth adding when a team keeps data or business logic in FileMaker and wants an AI assistant to query those tables or run those scripts directly, rather than copying data out by hand. It suits self-hosted setups where the FileMaker account and its privileges can be controlled.
Requirements
Runs as a local process on the user's machine (desktop only; no web executable). Needs a FileMaker account supplied through the environment variables FM_USER and FM_PASS. The account needs the fmodata extended privilege, and fmrest for scripts. Network access to the FileMaker host is required.
Before you install
The FileMaker account password is passed as the secret environment variable FM_PASS and is read from the environment only. The account's privileges decide what the assistant can reach: fmodata exposes table data and fmrest allows scripts, which may read, change, or delete records. Grant the least privilege needed and use a dedicated account rather than an administrator login.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Ailimu in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
