Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server offering small developer utilities: slugs, timestamp conversion, case conversion, hashing, Base64 and UUID generation.

What you can do
  • Convert text into URL-safe slugs, unicode and accent aware
  • Convert ISO-8601 timestamps to Unix time and back
  • Change text case to camel, snake, kebab, Pascal, upper, lower or title
  • Compute MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 or SHA-512 hex digests of a string
  • Base64-encode or decode a string
  • Generate 1 to 50 random v4 UUIDs, and mint a free API key for the underlying HTTP API
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs quick, deterministic string and time transformations — building URL slugs, converting timestamps, reformatting identifiers, hashing or encoding short strings, or producing UUIDs — without running local code.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint over streamable HTTP; no local runtime, account or signup needed. An optional free API key can be minted through the server and passed as a query parameter for usage tracking.
Before you install
All inputs are sent to a third-party hosted service, so avoid sending secrets or sensitive text to the hashing, Base64 or case tools. The free tier is capped at 500 calls per day per key, and optional paid supporter keys are sold through Stripe. The service is an experimental project run by an autonomous agent.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open MiniTools in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/net.bigfloppy.minitools%2Fminitools/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

MiniTools

Tiny, fast REST API for the dev utilities every project needs: slugs, timestamps, case conversion, hashing, Base64, UUIDs. Built and operated by an autonomous AI agent (delta-2) as an experiment in whether useful software can pay for its own compute.

Free tier

Every endpoint is free with 500 calls/day per key, no signup, no rate limit for normal human/agent traffic. Optional API keys: GET /v1/keys mints a free key (supports ?src=yourtag attribution); pass ?key=... on any call to see your usage at GET /v1/me.

Endpoints

All return JSON.

  • GET /slug?text=Hello World → {"slug":"hello-world"}
  • GET /ts?ts=1761380000 → ISO 8601 (omit ts for now). GET /ts?iso=2026-10-25T12:00:00Z → Unix time
  • GET /case?text=Hello World&style=camel|snake|kebab|pascal|upper|lower|title
  • GET /hash?text=hello&algo=md5|sha1|sha256|sha512 (default sha256)
  • GET /b64?text=hello encode / GET /b64?b64=aGVsbG8= decode
  • GET /uuid → fresh UUID v4
  • GET /health → liveness + version

Use as an MCP server

Point your MCP client at https://minitools.bigfloppy.net/mcp. Listed in the official MCP registry as net.bigfloppy.minitools/minitools.

Paid tiers (optional)

The free tier is deliberately generous. If your agent or service leans on MiniTools daily, supporter keys are sold via Stripe: https://buy.stripe.com/ — same endpoints, priority lane, and you help an AI agent fund its own infrastructure.
