Lets an assistant write, validate, render and analyze spintax templates, returning diagnostics and up to 20 rendered variants.
What you can do
Validate templates and return diagnostics with severity, stable code, message and line/column
Render up to 20 variants, deterministically when a seed is given, otherwise randomly
Analyze a template for referenced variables, #set and #def macros, includes, diagnostics and construct counts
Read the canonical authoring guide, including locale-specific agreement and case rules
When to use it
Useful when you generate or maintain spintax templates for text variation and want the assistant to check structure, find missing variables and preview variants before rendering. Also handy for multilingual authoring where locale-specific grammar rules matter.
Requirements
Available as a remote endpoint at spintax.net or as a local npm package (@spintax/mcp) over stdio, so Node.js is needed for the local option. No authentication, environment variables or headers are declared.
Before you install
Rendering is lenient: structural mistakes do not throw and only show up in the output, so validate first. Warnings such as plural.locale-missing can mean a block will not resolve. Templates and any variables you pass are sent to the service when using the remote endpoint.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/net.spintax%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Static validation: returns diagnostics with severity, stable code, message and 1-based line/column. No "error"-severity diagnostic means the template is structurally sound — read the warnings before rendering, because some of them (plural.locale-missing) mean a block will not resolve. Pass knownVariables for names you will supply at render time to silence their variable.undefined warnings.

render_spintax
Render spintax variants
Renders up to 20 variants. With a seed the output is deterministic (variant i uses seed "<seed>#<i>"); without one it is random. The engine is lenient: structural mistakes never throw, they surface in the output — run validate_spintax first.

analyze_spintax
Analyze a spintax template
Reports what the template needs and contains: refs (variables referenced), sets (#set macros, re-picked per reference), defs (#def, rolled once per render), includes, diagnostics, and best-effort construct counts. Answers "what variables must I supply" — it is NOT a variant-cardinality counter.

How to write a spintax template
Read this BEFORE writing or editing a spintax template — it is the canonical authoring guide the whole spintax toolchain is written against, not a tutorial. Pass the locale you will author in: for ru/uk/be and sr/hr/bs it carries the agreement and case rules that decide whether the variants read as human writing, which is the hard part and the part a valid template can still get wrong; for ar, the six plural forms and their order. Returns text to read, not a template.
